Spider veins are small red, blue, and purple veins that commonly appear on the surface of the legs, or on the face. At least one-third of women are troubled by this common problem. People often seek treatment for spider veins as a cosmetic concern.
How Are Spider Veins Treated?
A thorough examination should be performed prior to treatment and may require a non-invasive ultrasound session to determine if any underlying problem exists. At The Cosmetic Vein & Laser Center, we are proud to offer two effective treatments and have been doing so since 1997.
- Spider Vein Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that involves injecting a solution into the affected veins. This solution irritates the walls of the veins, causing them to collapse and seal shut. Over time, the treated veins will fade from view.
- Spider Vein Laser Therapy is a safe and effective way to remove spider veins. The laser targets the affected veins with pulses of light energy. This energy destroys the vein, and over time, the vein will fade away.
